Nicholas Hansen

I am currently a Junior at Purdue University, Majoring in Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and minoring in Design and Innovation. I began studding in Fall of 2018 and am on track to graduate in spring of 2020. I am a teaching assistant for Dr. Damon Lercel and William Weldon, and assisting in the AT 109, UAS design and construction and AT 209, Civilian UAS, Classes currently, and I have also assisted in AT 119, UAS inspection and repair, in the past. I am also Vice president for the Purdue Drone Club. I operate for Purdue’s Agricultural Research Center, flying DJI M600s and M200s with RGB, Hyperspectral and LiDAR sensors.

I began flying drones in 2010 with a Parott AR drone and began from there, I started building my own drones in 2012. Since then I have built many different aircraft, from racing multirotors to heavy lift hexicopters, and high performance racing fixed wings. I have also developed a quad tiltrotor vtol and a 3d printed tail sitter vtol.
